Penn Foster offers a Motorcycle Repair Technician Program that allows students to gain all of the knowledge and skills that are needed to successfully diagnose and repair motorcycles. Not only are students taught how to diagnose and repair motorcycles but they are also taught to perform maintenance. The technician program can be completed in as little as 3 months, allowing graduates to launch into a motorcycle repair career as quickly as possible. Students will learn to service Harley-Davidson® and Suzuki® motorcycles, along with understanding repair on ATVs. Wyotech’s Motorcycle Technology training gives students all of the instruction that they need to begin a career in motorcycle repair. Along with the basics, students receive a hands-on education that allows them to go further, by taking specialization courses for different bike manufacturers. The course offers 8 core classes that deal with the repair of each area and system of a motorcycle. Once the 8 courses are completed, students can specialize in Asian motorcycles, European motorcycles or Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. There is also an off-road specialization, for those who want to work with off-road bikes. Chattahoochee Technical College offers a Motorcycle Service Technology program that gives training on both motorcycle repair and ATV repair. Provided at the Marietta campus, this program of study gives students all of the skills that are needed to accurately diagnose and repair both motorcycles and ATVs.  Areas of classroom study include, motorcycle technology, engines and drive trains, chassis and suspension systems, and motorcycle maintenance. Georgia Piedmont Technical College gives students the opportunity to earn their degree in Motorcycle Service Technology. Offered at their Clarkson campus, the daytime diploma program begins each summer semester. This one year program includes classes on the subjects of: basic skills, maintenance, chassis repair, electrical systems, and fuel systems. Unlike many other programs, Georgia Piedmont Technical College gives a hands-on opportunity for their students, through internship programs that allow students to work alongside the experts. With training provided through their Dynojet dynamameter center, graduates are fully prepared to work in motorcycle repair in many different areas.

WCC offers a comprehensive program in Motorcycle Technology that allows students to gain their degree, through learning all of the skills that are needed to correctly troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain today’s motorcycles. Upon completion of the program, graduates are given an opportunity to test for the Michigan Motorcycle Mechanic’s License. The program offers complete instruction in all areas of motorcycle service department operations. CCCC offers its students the only motorcycle mechanic program in the state of North Carolina that is factory supported. Through this program of study, students learn in a hands-on environment, with actual motorcycles and parts that are donated by the largest manufacturers. Not only are students trained in the art of motorcycle repair, but also in ATV. With a large garage setting for the classroom, students are exposed to a wide variety of shop experiences, preparing them to immediately launch their careers, upon graduation. Through CCCC, students have the option of attending the diploma program by day or the degree program at night. We get a lot of students interested in motocross gear from this school and most of the others too.

Iowa Lakes Community College is home to the only Motorcycle and Small Engine Repair program in the state. With this program, students are given both theory instruction, in the classroom, and practical, hands-on instruction in the lab. Students receive instruction on both American and Foreign motorcycles. Not only does the training cover motorcycle repair but students are also exposed to ATV, snowmobiles, marine engine repair and other small engines. Through this program of study, students will receive their Associate Degree in Applied Science. The Motorcycle and Small Engine Repair program is available only at their Emmetsburg campus.

Pickens Technical College is home to the Power Sports Technology program. Through this study, emphasis is placed on motorcycle repair, but topics of ATV, snowmobiles and marine engine repair are also covered. With the options of entering the program in both fall and spring, those wanting to attend this college are given a higher level of flexibility. The PCT program allows students to earn their Power Sports Technology Basic Technician Certificate. Through the program, students gain skills in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair of both motorcycle and a variety of other small engines.

MTTI offers its students a well-rounded education in motorcycle repair, through their Motorcycle/Power Equipment Technician program. Students are trained in motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs, snowmobiles, watercraft engines, lawnmowers, chainsaws and string trimmers. Students are able to graduate from the program in as little as 7 months and each student is provided a Snap-On tool set to use throughout the program. With both classroom and 60% hands-on training in repair, students are able to graduate, with the ability to diagnose and repair motorcycle engines and a variety of other small engines as well.

Automeca Technical College is a college that caters to Spanish-speaking students. Offering an extensive program in Motorcycle Repair Technology, students are exposed to both motorcycle engine repair and a variety of other small engines. Students are trained in hands-on shop experiences that allow them to learn all of the basics of motorcycle repair, from the chassis to the transmission. With this training, students effectively learn to diagnose and repair motorcycle engines, along with dirtbikes and ATVs.

The Tennessee Technology Center @ Paris offers a program of study in Motorcycle/ATV Repair. With both certificate and diploma programs, students can choose which option best fits their needs, for employment in the motorcycle repair career. Through the program, students are given hands-on training that gives them the knowledge needed to diagnose and repair a variety of motorcycle and ATV engines. Students are given instruction in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, special equipment, measuring tools and much more. FSCC is home to the Harley-Davidson® Technician Training Center. This center allows students to earn an Associate’s of Applied Science Degree in Motorcycle Service Technology. With both theoretical classroom study and the majority of the time spent in a hands-on learning environment, students are given a two-year education that also allows them the opportunity to participate in a twelve week summer internship program at Harley-Davidson®. The program holds classes Monday through Thursday, with Friday being an open lab day for students who want extra hands-on experience.

Linn State Technical College offers its students an education in PowerSports Technology. With extensive training in motorcycle, ATV and motor scooter engine repair, students are given the ability to earn their Associate of Applied Science degree, giving them the knowledge and skills that are required to work in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of motorcycles, ATVs and motor scooters. NIC offers a program of study in Outdoor Power/ Recreational Vehicle Technology. Beginning with the basics of power theory, students quickly progress through the different areas of study, until they are ready for graduation. Autry Technology Center gives students the opportunity to train for a career in Power Products Technology. Working on small engines, such as motorcycles, ATVs, and other engines, students gain a full grasp of the skills and knowledge that are needed to enter a career in motorcycle repair. Through the program, students learn to work on a variety of small engines to diagnose, disassemble, and repair. This 10 month course is offered for high school students (half-day programs) and adults (for both half-day and full-time). Classes are held Monday through Friday and give students flexibility in their pace.

HTC offers their Marine, MotorSport, and Outdoor Power Equipment Technology program to give students the opportunity to earn their degree and obtain a career in the motorcycle or marine repair industry. Upon completion of the program, students earn their degree and enter into the repair field of their choosing.

Through Davidson County Community College, students are given the opportunity to earn a diploma in Motorcycle Mechanics. This course gives students the knowledge and skills needed to work on a variety of modern motorcycle engines, to diagnose and repair them. The program also covers study on ATV and watercraft repair. Upon completion of the program, students will be proficient in electrical system, drive train, engine, suspension, and frame repair. The degree provided by this program gives students the ability to apply for entry-level jobs in the motorcycle repair industry. As knowledge is gained, some students are able to go on and open up their own motorcycle repair businesses.

RRCC is a college that is now offering a Power Equipment and Sport Vehicle Technology program. Taught at Warren Tech, the program offers students a two year study on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of motorcycle and other small engines. There are three study programs for students to choose from. Students can graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science Power Equipment and Sports Vehicle Technology. They are also offered two certificate programs in Power Equipment Maintenance Technician and Sports Vehicle Maintenance Technician. Upon successful graduation, students are able to enter into the Power and Sports Vehicle Repair industry.

The program is only available at the East Windsor-CT campus and is a 66 week program of study. City College of San Francisco offers their students two different certificate programs in motorcycle repair. With a Custom Motorcycle Technician and a General Motorcycle Technician program, students can take one or both, to gain access to a career in motorcycle repair. These comprehensive programs contain 34 units. Classes begin in the fall and are offered in day, evening and Saturday times. Each program is a two year program and all units must be completed before a certificate is given. With a hands-on learning environment, students in the program learn all of the skills that are needed to effectively diagnose and repair all types of motorcycle engines.

Los Angeles Trade-Tech offers a Motorcycle Technology program that includes four areas of study. Through classes in combustion engine theory and repair, tune-up theory and repair, electrical principals and repair, and engine diagnosis and overhaul, students are given a full education on all of the aspects of motorcycle repair. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are given their degree in Motorcycle Technology and are able to immediately pursue a career in motorcycle repair.
