Valentino Rossi signs with Yamaha and ends the speculation that he would leave Ducati at the end of the 2012 season. Yamaha announced that Rossi has signed a two year deal to return to Yamaha Factory Racing in 2013 and hopefully returning to his championship ways. Rossi reunites with the team where he won four MotoGP titles and won an astounding 46 races in the seven years with Yamaha. He left for Ducati in 2010, but has struggled on the red bikes in his time there.
“This announcement is once again excellent news for Yamaha,” said Yamaha’s Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis in a release issued early this morning. “In June we were able to sign Jorge Lorenzo for the 2013-14 campaign and now we are able to confirm Valentino Rossi for the next two years. In doing so we have been able to put together the strongest possible team to challenge for victories and to promote the Yamaha brand.”
