The most noticeable difference is the weight (or lack of)!. Compared to the stock upper and lower clamp set, our set is almost 5/8 of a pound lighter!!!. Overall the clamp is slightly V shaped. We have rounded the edges near the pinch bolts and added some new styling as well. As usual, much time and effort was made by engineers and testers at Applied to make this our best triple clamp yet. Machining radiuses on the underside around all the bores were greatly increased for even more strength and durability. Fork bores are precision machined for a perfect fit and greater clamping surface. Bar mounts are reversible to allow for stock bar position or a more forward position. I had trouble from day one with this. Applied took weeks and weeks to first send it out. When I received it, it seemed to have been machined incorrectly and didn't fit my forks correctly, one hole was too small for the forks and they were about 1mm too close together which took ages to muscle into place. The triple clamp bolts scratch up the clamps themselves when you tighten them also. Then the bar clamps were too low to accept the steering damper it was designed for so I had to put additional spacers under them to make them high enough. Now due to the spacers the bars bend a few cm every time I have a minor lay down or drop, which means I have to stop riding and spend an hour taking the clamps off and tightening everything back up. To top it all off they skimp on their own logo. They have stickers on it which simply peel off. Not happy, will never buy again and would not recommend anybody to buy these ever! Sorry guys I am just not happy with them.
Will try a more reputable brand next time.. RG3 most probably.
