Bell - Moto 9 Legacy Helmet
- Now on sale for $279.95! Was $475.95
- The new-from-the-ground-up Bell Moto-9 helmet elevates the category
with not only improved fit, ventilation and comfort, but added safety
features. Bell's new magnetic cheekpad system allows for easy helmet
removal in emergency situations. Used in conjunction with the Eject
Helmet Removal System, the two features allow First Responders to gently
remove the helmet from rider's head, reducting the potential for
secondary neck or spine injuries. - On a practical basis, the magnetic cheek pad system allows for
easy removal and hand washing of the cheek pads, a useful convenience
for keeping the interior clean and grunge-free. A removable, washable
comfort liner made a silver-woven antimicrobial and antibacterial
material wicks moisture away from the head and kills off 99.9% of odor
causing bacteria. - Moving outward on the helmet, the Moto-9 features a souped-up
version of Bell's Velocity Flow Ventilation system, which literally
pulls air through the helmet, keeping the rider cooler. Our TriMatrix
Composite Shell keeps weight low and strength in the right places, while
the Flying Bridge Visor is easily adjusted with two
hand-in-glove-adjustable QuickFlip screws that firmly hold the visor in
place. The patented magnetic strap keeper replaces the often
hard-to-locate strap snap with an elegant magnetic solution that easily
engages and secures the strap end. Bell standards like an integrated,
removable roost guard, padded chin strap with D-ring closure, Snell 2010
approval and a five year warranty are all part of the package - as well
as a deluxe padded helmet bag. Quite simply the best MX helmet ever.

The helmet shows great steps in helmet innovation, with the magnetically attached cheek pads and strap fastener.
Bell have also shown that there are ways to make a helmet safer too by incorporating the air bag lift off system, which with the easily removable cheek pads makes for safe helmet removal after crash.
I have had one big O.T.B. with my moto-9 and it didn't even scratch.
The strap is easily fastened and removed with gloves on.
My only issue is that the chin strap magnet rusted and fell out, luckily i found it and glued it back on... good as new...

I ordered a size large. The face guard is a lot closer to your face in comparison to my Shoei or TLD helmets. It's definitely comfortable, but I worry about how close my face is to the face guard. That part of the helmet is designed to break if you have a bad crash. I worry that if it did break it would hit my face. There is only a few inches between my face and that part of the helmet. I wear a size medium in TLD and I own a size large Shoei, neither of these two helmets have that close feeling to me.

Comments about Bell - Moto 9 Legacy Helmet:
I have never paid more than $200 for a helmet, so I cannot compare to a Shoei or Arai. This helmet retailed for almost $300 and I got it on clearnace for less than that. I feel like I got a $500 dollar helmet. The quality is outstanding and the magentic cheek pieces are genius. I was worried they would not be strong, but they are. The helmet does fit snug, but I am an x-small and other brands tend to be a little loose on me. I have a narrow face and the cheek pads are nice and snug.

Comments about Bell - Moto 9 Legacy Helmet:
Broke it in the day after it arrived. In her words, "Best X-Mas Present EVER!" Loves the removable/washable liner and the fact that I had money left to get her parts for her KTM.
