Elmo - SUV Cam

The SUV Cam is a pocket-sized video and audio recording system utilizing solid state recording media which combines ELMO microcamera technology, an MPEG4 digital recorder and a built-in color TFT 2.2-inch LCD monitor. The compact camera head and recorder/monitor body and 0.6lb weight make it usable as a handheld or body-worn POV extreme sports, surveillance, evidence-gathering and school bus security device. One-touch simplified recording permits hands-free operation.

The heart of the system is a waterproof microcamera head with a high quality 3.8 mm, F2.0 lens. The ¼-inch color CCD has 2:1 interlaced scanning system with an effective pixel number of 752 x 582. With 480 TVL (H) and 350 TVL (V) resolution and a S/N ratio of >48dB, it provides detailed images on the high-resolution monitor screen or for recording in illumination as low as 2 lx. The fully immersible camera head is waterproof up to 130ft. and is connected to the monitor/recorder by cable available in 2.62ft.

User-selected adjustments through the recorder's on-screen menus manage such functions as recording frame rate, resolution, camera and display brightness, contrast and playback speed as well as Auto Electronic Shutter (AES) with speeds ranging from 1/50th to 1/100,000th second. MPEG4 encoding delivers fully synchronized high-quality audio and video recording with resolution up to 704 x 480 at 25fps, storing files of up to 2GB on an optional SD card. Its battery capacity provides up to 3 hours of recording at 15fps at standard 640 x 480 resolution and 5 hours of playback of clear, detailed images recorded at speeds of 25, 15, 3 or 1fps. Audio is captured by the built-in mono microphone or a user supplied external mic. The unit has connections for an AC adapter, earphones, AV output and a USB2.0 port. Resolution settings of 704x480, 640 x 480, 320 x 240 or 160 x 120 can be selected. The AV output offers both NTSC or PAL compatible video outputs.
