the first thing i notices was the incredible ankle support. it hugs your ankle so well, and the interior is so soft.

I had use this boot for almost two years now and up to me are the best boots on the market
The hinges design gives you the so much needed side protection in the ankle while it makes it easy to break in the boot
The sole it’s great it last more than what I expected (used to alpinesters) after two years the sole it’s barely in the half of its life in awesome shape for a two years boots (I try to ride every weekend but some times I can’t so let’s say I ride twice a month) wihle with the tech 10 I replaced the sole after one year
I got in to these boots after huge research on the web. After my second ankle injury I said to my self there is something wrong about the alpinestars because my first injury I was wearing tech 8’s and in the second Tech 10’s. So by doing the research I found out that most of the riders that have had an ankle injury have move over the Gaerne SG10 because of the hinges and materials used in these boots.
So it was time for a pit stop at the local MX store to see the options. I found that the Sidi brand manufacture a boot with hinges to so I carefully inspect the boots to find out why other riders have chosen the Gaerne SG10’s over the Sidi’s crossfire I found out that the plastic used on the hinges of the Sidi’s its thin and to flexible not offering as much protection as the Gaerne’s. the plastic used in the Gaerne’s it’s thick enough to give you the side support needed with out making the but to heavy
The one thing that you need to have in mind if you’re buying these boots it’s that they run bigger than normal on size I used to were size 10 on the Alpinestars but in this ones I were size 9. Just get this boot you wont be disappointed

GREAT BOOT. RUBBER AROUND SCREW HEAD AT HINGE WEARS OFF IMMEDIATELY AND STEEL HEAD SCRATCHES FRAME. TEND TO HURT SMALL TOES WITH ALL DAY RIDING. ACCEPT KNEE BRACES AT GAITOR WELL. GOOD SUPPORT BUT NOT AS INSPIRING AS TECH 8. BOOTIE IS BETTER. SOLES LAST!!!
