Comments about Hardline - Re-Settable Hour Meter:
Installed on 2009 YZ250F. Great product with cool features (i.e. oil change reminder, air filter cleaning reminder, valve check reminder). Makes tracking maintenance and engine life easy.
Three negatives:
1. Remains on and display never shuts off; always displays total time even while bike is not running. It obviously does not count time when the engine is off, but I fear that with the display constantly on it will drain the battery more quickly
2. There's no way to open up the unit to change its battery. Once it's dead it's dead.
3. Poorly mounts to the separately-purchased "instrument style bracket." The recess in the bracket is not deep enough for my fuel tank's bolt head to sit flush in. This causes the bolt to stick up and prevent the hour meter from sitting flush on the bracket. With the meter crooked, the mounting screws aren't quite long enough to get a good "bite" into the bracket.
Overall good product, but it is not without drawbacks.
