I have been riding with the same Arai helmet for the last 23 years....yes since 1988. It has seen many up and downs, so after a 10 layoff from racing (not riding) I decided to get the VFX-W since it has so many rave reviews. After receiving it I was somewhat disappointed since the weight was not noticeable different than my 22 old Arai. I will say that the ventilation seems better and being able to pull all the insides out with ease is a plus. I can say that the quality is not as good, guess they don't build them like they used to, because the shell seems very thin and I can safely say that after some of the crashes my Arai has seen, this Shoei will crack (hope I wrong). Anyway I rode with the helmet just once and its in the paint booth now so these opinions are without heavy use. BTO was awsome reasonable price and very quick shipping.

Comments about Shoei - VFX-W Solid Helmets:
This is by far the best helmet I have ever owned. It is lightweight, extremely comfortable, and looks amazing. Before buying the Shoei I was wearing a Thor Quadrant helmet and it is not even comparable to the Shoei, the Shoei is on a whole another level. Even with it being one of the pricier helmets on the market it was worth every penny and I would not hesitate to buy another one.
