The carbon and the composite are made out of carbon fiber and carbon-fiberglass respectively. However, the Polyacrylite is made of an inexpensive plastic material that still provides more than enough head protection for riders that like top go all out! However, this motocross helmet is slightly heavier than the other SE4 models.

Aside from the exterior shell, The Troy Lee Designs SE4 Polyacrylite Pinstripe Helmet is essentially the same helmet as the other two models. It possesses all of the same great safety features like the triple density EPS foam. This layer sits right underneath the exterior shell that adds additional protection. The hard shell provides protection against abrasions and punctures, while the EPS absorbs blunt trauma and impacts. Despite the lower price tag, this helmet is also equipped with the Mips protection system. TLD has worked closely with Mips to create integrated dirt bike helmets that aim to give riders the most protection possible. For those who are new to Mips, It consists of a low friction layer that sits between the Shell and foam that allows them to slide past each other. What this does is allow the outer shell to move relative to the point of impact, creating longer contact between the force and the motocross helmet.
