BTO Amateur Riders Take Home Bears at 2013 Mammoth MX

BTO Sports Amateur Riders Have Impressive Showing at the 2013 AMA Monster Mammoth MX National.

Mammoth Lakes, CA – July 2013

BTO Sports attends the AMA Monster Mammoth Mx for the 3rd year in a row to provide fan engagement activities, Holeshot Awards, and support it’s growing Amateur program. Team riders Tyler Enticknap, Jesse Sanchez, and Talon Lafountaine represented the company on the track, while the event crew tended to the fans at the BTO Sports Tent.

As the BTO Sports Amateur program continues to build and solidify itself, all team riders continued the progression taking home the infamous “Mammoth Bear” trophies. This year’s competition proved to be a handful as each class was stacked with an array of title contenders. Mammoth Mx continues to gain momentum, considered by most a legitimate amateur national.

Some racing highlights include Jesse Sanchez’s open B moto win, followed by a holeshot and commanding lead in the 450B main, until his brake fluid boiled pulling the brake hose off the caliper. Overall, Jesse rode extremely well putting BTO on the podium multiple times throughout the weekend. Somewhat of a breakthrough He proved he has the ability to run up front.

Tyler Enticknap continues to impress as he muscled his 250F up and down the Mammoth Mountain to take home a 3rd in 250 pro. Typically a 450 racer, watching Tyler adapt his aggressive berm destroying style on the 250 was definitely fun to watch.  However, the beast of burden is always the 450 for Enticknap, and nothing changed this weekend as he managed to maintain a 6th overall in open pro despite getting a flat tire in moto 1 while pushing for the lead. Moto 2, Tyler had a terrible start but managed to push his way back just outside the top 5.

Tallon Lafountaine also landed himself a bear. 2013 marks his first year in the B class at Mammoth, and Tallon continues to impress the motocross industry by being one of the youngest riders in the intermediate class who has the speed to run up front. Probably the toughest class relative to the riders who lined up, he continues to learn and plans to continue moving forward at Loretta’s ranch this summer.

For those of you who missed out on Mammoth Mx this year, below is a video and Mike B’s photo gallery showcasing BTO Amateur Riders tearing up Mammoth Mx in 2013. All of you are encouraged to make the trip up next June as it’s one of the best nationals of the year!
