Fox CompR Boots Spotlight

Race Ready with the Comp R Boot

As one of the biggest gear companies in the industry, Fox knows a thing or two about what rider’s need. From their humble beginnings in 1974 to having the top riders in the 80s, 90s, and today, they are known as the leaders in Motocross gear. Their latest release, the Comp R Boots have set the bar on what a mid-level boot should offer riders.

Filling the gap between the Comp Boots (Sport-Level) and the Instinct (Pro-Level), the Comp R (Race-Level) boots allow dirt bike riders a perfect platform for top level protection without breaking the bank.

The Fox Comp R boot is race-ready right out of the box!

The designers at Fox had one clear objective for the Comp R boot: to offer a pure and practical race-level boot at a price point that won’t break the bank. Using technology derived from it’s older brother Instinct motocross boot, the Comp R offers riders a boot that is more serious about protection, giving a sense of confidence while on the bike. Technology such as Fox’s exclusive ActiveLock closure and floating cuff system gives the Comp R mobility that isn’t offered in other boots of it’s caliber.

2 buckles from the Instinct combined with the Activelock closure system keeps this boot snug.

Borrowing two lower buckles from the Instinct boot ensures you will never have a boot malfunction during the heat of the battle. One great feature of the ActiveLock closure system is able to be adjusted outward to accommodate riders with a larger calf. This makes this Fox motocross boot a level up from its competitors.

A big problem with other mid-level boots is how unnatural the movement is when wearing them. This isn’t a problem with the Comp R. With the addition of what Fox calls a “Floating-cuff system” in the heel allows the boot to move naturally. This not only improves the fit, but also the agility on the bike while locking out to prevent hyper-extension. With a boot like this that conforms to the riders foot snugly and zero pull in the heel, this is a boot is race ready right out of the box!

Huge traction treads and safety features makes the Comp R the best mid-level boot out there!

Other safety features include a plastic shin plate, calf, heel and toe box area that protects from debris. This max protection comes at no degradation to overall loss of flexibility. One of the key features of the Comp R boot is the sticky outsole which provides riders with grip no matter how dull your footpegs are. No worries about your foot slipping off!

  • Updated floating cuff system provides lateral support & increased linear movement while locking out before hyperextension of ankle
