Let’s check out this fun video intro from Leatt themselves. They’re mighty proud of their new helmet- and they should be! Great videos like these are also available on the BTO Sports YouTube Channel. Check it out when you have some down time! Enjoy:

2019 is going to be a monster year for Leatt. As a company who burst onto the scene with their DBX 5.5 Neck Brace, they’ve fleshed out an entire MTB collection that commands attention. To be sure, you could just rock Leatt MTB gear from head to toe and not only look great but be the most protected rider in the competition.

Suave Good Looks.

From the pics above, as well as the killer blue option pictured throughout- these helmets have a stunning look! Simply a tremendous array of colors that match up with any look or set of MTB riding gear. Because Leatt knows all too well that it’s not just safety we’re after… we want the best-looking gear on the mountain.

But if all you wanted was tech? You came to the right place…

The new 4.0 bicycle helmet is feather-light and offers DH-certified full-face protection. Much like its big brother, the DBX 5.0 V19.1 Helmet, it comes equipped with 22 vents and a detachable mouthpiece. Undoubtedly, it is superbly ventilated! Featuring Leatt’s award-winning 360° Turbine Tech, the helmet is lined with turbines which are 360 ̊moving discs constructed from an energy-absorbing shape and material.

Leatt’s 360 Turbine Technology

The DBX 4.0 Helmet is lined with turbines, which are 360 ̊moving discs constructed from an energy-absorbing shape and material. To that end, it’s state-of-the-art MTB protective gear. Why? This technology has two key advantages, namely the reduction of rotational acceleration to the head and brain and the absorption of energy upon impact at concussion level. Enjoy the A/V help below:

As you can clearly see, these helmets bring on-the-bike safety to a whole different level. Would you expect anything less from Leatt? After all, their dirt bike helmets have been the safest on the market for years now! Not surprising that their great technologies have now spilled over into the MTB market. And the awards are sure to follow. Speaking of which…

Leatt DBX 4.0 – Award Winner.

Indeed, the Leatt DBX 4.0 V19.3 Helmet is the winner of the 2019 Design & Innovation Award! Below is the press release- released just this week:

Cape Town, South Africa – Jan. 14th: The DBX 4.0 Helmet was recognized by the DIA committee for its comfort, fit and protection, and as ‘the perfect helmet for anyone who wants more safety without sacrificing too much comfort.’ The helmet is extremely light weight, well ventilated, with 22 big ventilation ports, and pleasant to wear. Not to mention the large eyeport that accommodates any MTB goggles. The comfortable padding all-around the helmet was a perfect fit for testers and is also effective in preventing the helmet from shifting around.

The company’s 360⁰ turbine system and dual density foam construction absorbs hard knocks. Moreover, it’s compliant with ASTM standards and is certified for use as a downhill helmet. The future is so bright- you’re going to need those MTB sunglasses. What’s more, a detachable mesh insert of the chin guard allows the helmet to be adapted to weather conditions and discipline. The Leatt DBX 4.0 balances the requirements of both a trail and a downhill helmet.
