Team BTO Sports Suzuki Millville MX Race Report

Millville, MN (July 16, 2012) – The BTO Sports Suzuki race team took to the sand whoops at Spring Creek MX in Millville, MN for round seven of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. After a solid race last weekend at Red Bud, the team has picked up momentum and is ready to bring it from here on out. Practice was strong for all three team riders, especially “Top” Jimmy Albertson as he dug deep for unreal speed, qualifying in the 3rd spot.

Michael Byrne had the starts dialed this weekend, as his Pirelli Scorpion MX tires gave him the drive for the holeshot in moto one.  He would run within the top 5 for most of the moto, eventually slipping back just a few places to where he would finish a solid 9th place. The second moto again saw Byrner rocketing out of the gate with another holeshot at the start. The first part of the moto he would run inside the top 5 until colliding with Justin Brayton and bending his shift lever. After coming into the mechanics area to replace the bent shift lever , he would rally back from being a lap down to 20th spot, taking 13th overall on the day.

Jimmy Albertson would start the first moto outside the top twenty, but would find the speed he showed in qualifying to tear through the field all the way to 10th place, right behind teammate Michael Byrne. Second moto Jimmy would get a great start and round the first turn in the 4th spot. Unfortunately he would get tangled up with Tyla Ratray on the first lap. He would charge hard but two more crashes, with the last one taking Jimmy out with a DNF for the second moto. Still, with his great first moto, “Top” Jimmy would take 17th overall on the day.

Jason Thomas continued the riding clinic for the riders behind him this weekend. Though moto one for JT was tough and only placed 36th, he came back in the 2nd moto to show everyone the Jason Thomas is all business out on the track.  He would come out of the gate in the second moto, riding aggressively inside the top twenty to a 17th place finish. That would give JT$ 24th overall for the day.
