This protector is probably the most expensive on the market at this time. I bought this one because I believe it to have one of the best impact protection designs. Because of the material ( plastic and a foam/rubber base ) washing is easy, as the water doesn't penetrate. The sections to be pumped offer good protection of vital body parts (spine, section of ribs and abdominal) but is on the small side to be honest. One concern is the build quality. For the price I think they could have done much better. Where the elastic straps meet the foam/rubber material, there is no hard plastic rim, just a slot cut out of the foam. I'm certain this will eventually break at these points, especially if stretched in a crash. That aspect is really quite disappointing. Also on the first short ride one of the bolts that hold the hard plastic section worked loose, and was lost.. If it saves my spine from impact, it's done its job. If I could choose again, I'd probably buy a Leatt 5.5 HD. It's just much better build quality.
