Troy Lee Designs - SE4 Composite Maze Helmet

The Troy Lee Designs SE4 Composite Maze Helmet is a brand new design for the 2018 TLD Moto collection. It fits right in with the bright color pallets found all across the new release. This helmet is loaded with excellent comfort and safety features that make it one of the best dirt bike helmets on the market. Starting with this newest release, The Troy Lee Designs SE4 helmet line consists of three different helmet shell archetypes that all have unique traits. As the name implies, the Troy Lee Designs SE4 Composite Maze helmet features a super strong composite exterior shell. The shell is made of ultra-lightweight materials that afford riders incredible head protection in an optimized package. This is the second lightest in the Troy Lee dirt bike helmets lineup, only surpassed by the SE4 Carbon. This one weighs just over three pounds (3.1 to be exact) which makes it perfect for racing when every bit of weight matters. This motocross helmet features a secondary protective layer comprised of triple density EPS foam that absorb the force of impacts. These two layers work together to form one of the most protective helmets of 2017! Don’t be thrown off by the lightweight materials. This dirt bike helmet provides more than enough head protection for riders who like to go all out!

The Mips protection deserves its own special mention. For those who have never used a helmet with Mips protection, this revolutionary technology uses a unique method that provides extra protection against serious head injuries. In between the composite shell and the EPS layer lies the Mips Low friction layer. The outer shell sits on this barrier which allows it to shift relative to the direction of impact. It sounds counter intuitive, but research has shown that it greatly reduces the risk of injuries. Don’t take our word for it though. This dirt bike helmet exceeds every major protection certification like the DOT, ECE, AS/NZS and even Snell!

This helmet is a full featured dirt bike helmet. Besides the composite shell, the Troy Lee Designs SE4 Composite Maze helmet has all the same attributes as the SE4 Carbon. It still has the twenty combined intake and exhaust vents that keep riders cool. The vents are perfectly positioned to take advantage of the rider’s momentum, which allows the hot air to be replaced by cool air. The moisture wicking interior liner takes advantage of this feature by allowing the collected perspiration a way to evaporate. As the liner draws moisture away from the skin and hair of the rider, the airflow forces the moist air out the exhaust vents on the rear of the motocross helmet. The stainless steel D-rings and the plastic visors screws keep the helmet lightweight. The plastic screws were implemented intentionally so that the visor breaks away in a spill, which will reduce the likelihood for head & neck injuries.
