The upper portion of the boot is made from a leather and a microfiber upper which is reinforced with a rugged polymer protector. Exclusive to the Alpinestars SMX Plus boot is the Multi Link Control system that helps prevent ankle torsion while offering flex and freedom of movement. 

The Alpinestars SMX Plus, long story short, fits like a glove. A Dupont Kevlar instep with a metal eyelet lacing closure offers a unique closure for a precise fit. An elastic mounted zipper gives easy closure with excellent fit, the Velcro tab locks the zip pull closed, keeping the boot tightened and secure. Micro adjustable ratchet buckle closure on the calf features a hidden strap for security. The liner is a synthetic leather lining that is laminated with open cell foam for shock absorption and highly breathable lining in the ankle and legs area for added comfort.
