Bell - Star MIPS Classic Helmet
2018 Star MIPS Classic Helmet - Bell
The Bell Star Classic Helmet is the quintessential Bell helmet. The classic helmet is the successor to the helmets Bell first made in 1967 as the first full face covering helmet. Since the 60’s Bell has left its mark and have evolved since then.
The shell of the Classic Helmet is made up of a combination of fiberglass, carbon fiber, aramid. These materials not only provide an extremely solid shell but makes for a lightweight helmet. The results are one of the strongest and lightest helmets Bell has ever produced. Another improved feature of the Bell Classic Helmet is the improved front shield. The Bell Classic’s viewport has been updated to create a better vertical and lateral field of view for the wearer. This extra field of view allows the wearer to be able to more and reliable head checks while on the road.
The interior of the Bell Classic Helmet is lined with the XT2 Silver Liner. The XT2 is an antimicrobial fabric that is proven to provide odor protection and inhibits the growth of bacteria throughout the lifespan of the liner itself. The XT2 Liner’s are permanently bonded with a layer of 99.9%(pure metallic silver. The ions of the silver create an ionic shield that permanently inhibits the growth of bacteria and other fungi. Despite the infused metal the fibers are flexible that look no different from other fabrics. The interior pads are resting on the MIPS slip-plane technology. What this does is, upon impact the pads are to move with the head of the wearer and shift at initial point of impact. This shifting in the pads allows them to absorb more of the kinetic energy from the impact and significantly reduces the risk of traumatic brain injuries.
