A motorcycle tail bag can be mounted over your tail section (hence the name tail bag), it can be mounted to the luggage rack on your bike (which is why it is sometimes referred to as a motorcycle luggage tail bag), or it can be attached to the actual seat of your bike as long as you’re not planning on carrying any passengers.
The motorcycle tail bag is designed to offer you convenient, compact storage while you ride. Street bike and motorcycle tail bags for the rear luggage rack come in many different styles from simple models similar to a motorcycle tank bag to more advanced designs. Some bags can even be attached to a sissy bar on a cruiser and look just like small suitcases.
When shopping for motorcycle or street bike tail bags, one of the most important things to consider is if it will fit on your bike. Most of our street bike and motorcycle tail bag selections are designed to fit a wide range of bikes, but you should still check measurements before ordering. Consider the length and width of the motorcycle tail bag you are considering and then compare it to the length and width of where you are going to mount it on your bike. Its length and width shouldn’t exceed the length and width of where you will be mounting it to by more than a few inches. If you find you don’t have enough room for a tail bag or you are going to need more storage space, BTO Sports also offers a wide selection of motorcycle saddlebags and other types of motorcycle bags.
Motorcycle tail bags are fairly easy to mount. Mounting instructions are included along with integral bungee cord attachments with most models. No additional tools are needed, and the whole process of mounting your motorcycle tail bag should take less than 30 minutes.
